Discipleship Council
Discipleship Council was formed to reach out to not only the St. Stephen's community but to everyone!
Discipleship Council for 2007 - 2008:
St. Stephen the Witness Catholic Student Center is the bomb! As a sophomore TESOL/Spanish/Education major at UNI, I am so thankful to be a member of the thriving community here on campus. My hometown is Manchester, Iowa...I love spending time with friends and family, laughing and exchaning stories (that's how we make sense of life), making music, being creative, staying active, and living life for each day. At St. Stephens, I am a co-chair for the Community Life Committee, cantor, accompanyist, lector, and consumer of all the delicious food they offer.

I am a Senior Manufacturing Technology major from West Bend, Iowa. As many of you know West Bend is also the home of the world famous Grotto of the Redemption! My home parish is Saint’s Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend. I am currently serving on the Discipleship Council in the community life area. Some of the ministries that I perform at mass are Eucharistic Minister and Lector. I am also involved in the Antioch Retreat here at St. Stephen as a small group leader. In addition to my duties at St. Stephen, I am also employed at the John Deere Waterloo Works as a Part Time Student. As part of the Discipleship Council I would like to become closer to God, and make new friends. I would also like to become more involved with the spiritual events that occur here.
I am a junior Human Resources Management major from New Vienna, IA. I am currently serving the Discipleship Council as an Ambassador. I also stay very active with the Antioch Retreat here at St Stephen, and I help out with the confirmation class at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. Outside of St. Stephen, I am involved with University of Northern Iowa Student Alumni Ambassadors, the University of Northern Iowa Honors Program, and I am currently employed at John Deere. This year I am looking forward to developing many great friendships and growing in my faith. I love playing basketball (and all other sports), hunting, fishing, and hanging out with my family and friends.

I am a senior Psychology major with a minor in Family Studies and a certificate in Conflict Resolution. I am from Arlington Heights, IL, which is a suburb of Chicago. I started at St Stephen's in the fall of last year and have had some amazing experiences there. I am on Community Life this year and am also the Prayer Team Leader for the fall Antioch Retreat. I am really excited to start planning some great events and to get to work with a lot of fun people. I am looking forward to meeting new people in the St Stephen's community and to provide fun ways to get together.

I am a sophomore Spanish Education major from Palatine, IL (a suburb of Chicago). I spend a lot of my free time at St. Stephen's going to Prime Time mass, attending women's group discussions, and now being a co-chair for the Adopt-A-Grandparent program. I'm very excited to meet new people and make some great friendships this year. I love quoting movies, playing ping pong, rollerblading, speaking in Spanish, and working with little kids.

I am a second year graduate student studying industrial-organizational psychology originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I went to high school at Cedar Rapids Xavier and I received my bachelors of science in psychology at Iowa State University. I currently serve the DC as the social justice chair. I'm active in many activities around the student center and always looking to meet new and exciting people. Outside of my time at the student center I do a little bit of everything... just as people who know me. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you grow in your personal, professional or spiritual life.

Hi! I am a senior exercise science major, health promotion minor from Decorah, Ia. I have been involved at St. Stephen since my freshman year and am looking forward to serving on Discipleship Council this year! I am a senior Elementary and Middle Level Education dual major with a math minor, which means next year I'll be a second year senior:-) I transferred to UNI last year and had an amazing time singing in the Witness Choir. I also had a receptionist shift, which is a great way to see all that is going on at St. Stephen. I'm excited to get more involved with Prime Time and to attend the Antioch retreat. I'm currently serving as co-chair of Adopt-a-Grandparent and I can't wait to start our visits! I enjoy reading, movies, and board games.
I am a fifth year senior majoring in Sociology with an anthropology minor and certificate in global health and health disparities. I will be graduating in May 2008. Then hopefully I will be attending graduate school in the fall of 2008 to get my masters in public health!!! St. Stephen's has helped me tremendously in staying focused and finding great people to talk to and share my life with! I have participated in retreats, service trips, and helping whenever and with whatever I can. I enjoy learning, dancing, traveling, and spending time with my family! So if you see me on campus or at St. Stephen don't be shy and say hello!
I am a senior psychology major and ethics minor from Cedar Rapids, IA. Since coming to UNI last year, I have been welcomed by the open doors of St. Stephen. I was able to get involved in many things last year (I highly recommend Primetime, Men’s Group, and the Monday night Catechism class), and am excited to do more this year. I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to help coordinate, cook, and serve the meals at the Catholic Worker House every month. I am also very excited that I can help lead the Wednesday night GIFT group. I really like all sports, especially college football; and enjoy learning about religion, especially Catholic theology. I am looking forward to a great year at St. Stephen.
I am a senior English major with a Professional Writing minor from Moville, Iowa. My home church is Morningside Lutheran in Sioux City. As a member of the discipleship council last year at St. Stephen’s, I was co-chair of Adopt-A-Grandparent. Now, I am serving as the council's vice president. I’m excited to meet new students and make new friends during this school year through the community at St. Stephen’s. Some of my hobbies include watching football and movies, reading, writing, listening to others, being with my friends and spending time with my family on our farm playing with kittens. I also enjoy laughing at Michael's jokes, baking cookies with Keri and getting hugs from Andy. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me via e-mail.
