Lay Directors:
Both Canon law and state law recognize the importance of lay involvement in the governance of a faith community. Because of this, two lay people, are named as lay directors and serve as members of the corporation. These directors, have certain responsibilities to see that the operations of the corporation are well-managed and at all times consistent with the purposes of the Corporation as a Roman Catholic institution operating under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Dubuque. One of the directors serves as the chair person of the finance council and the other serves on the Witness pastoral Council. The term for lay director is five years with a option for one renewable term.

Witness Pastoral Council
This leadership group composed of students and non-students of our faith community help to strengthen the Body of Christ by helping the student center meet the challenge of living out the mission of St. Stephen the Witness. Members serve either one, two or three year terms.

Finance Council
The finance council, advises the director of the Student Center regarding stewardship of financial resources. The council possesses a consultative voice in the administration of student center finances Members serve either one, two or three year terms.
