Hi everyone! My name is Kate Banwarth and I am from Dubuque, Iowa. I am a junior majoring in Accounting and minoring in Ethics. I started my faith journey with my parents and younger brother at my home parish, Resurrection, and became involved with campus ministry in high school. This year, I am serving as the Community Life Peer Minister. I will be planning activities such as TGIFs (fun events held on Friday nights), Care Packages, and welcome events on campus to reach out to new students. My goal for the year is to form an environment that allows all students to feel at home here at St. Stephen’s. I am excited to begin this ministry and see God’s plan unfold!

Hello! My name is Joshua Samec and I will be proudly serving as the Spiritual Life Peer Minister this year. I was born and raised in New Hampton, Iowa and was a member of the Holy Family Parish. I have two amazing parents, Steve and Sharon, and two brothers and two sisters-in-law. I am a senior majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and art. My future plans are to attend medical school next year to become a doctor.
I am beyond excited to serve the St. Stephen's community with such a great team of staff members, and to use my gifts to create beautiful liturgies, music, and prayers experiences throughout the liturgical seasons. I hope God blesses you all in so many ways and that your year is full of love, laughter, and filled with great memories here at St. Stephen's and at UNI.

Hey everyone! My name is Grace Steil, and I am from a small town called Livermore, Iowa. I grew up there along with my little sister Gaby, and two amazing parents Mark and Mary. A few of my favorite things to do include spending time with my family, doing any kind of crafting, sewing, and of course Netflix binges! I am currently an Accounting major here at UNI, and am so excited to spend my last year here at UNI working as the Social Justice Peer Minister! My duties this year will include planning events such as Northeast Iowa Food Bank, Catholic Worker House, Thanksgiving Food baskets, Spring Break Service Trip, and Lenten Almsgiving. My main goal this year however is to really focus on helping my fellow students here at St. Stephens grow together in faith in our Lord. I can’t wait to see what God has planned for me during this next year here at St. Stephen the Witness!!
