MARK YOUR CALENDARS

The Education Committee of the Witness Council is planning a book discussion for early in the fall semester. We thought we would let you know at this time, so you can read it at your leisure and be prepared to participate. The actual date of the discussion will be announced at a later time. The book may be purchased at the University Book Store, or other area book stores may be willing to order it. It is also available at the Cedar Falls Public Library. There may be other copies made available by members of our faith community.

Book reference:
SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME
Ron Hall, Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent
Publisher: Nashville, Thomas Nelson, 2006
"A dangerous, homeless drifter who grew up picking cotton in virtual slavery, an upscale art dealer accustom to the world of Armani and Chanel, a gutsy woman with a stubborn dream -- a story so incredible no novelist would dare dream it. .... Gritty with pain and betrayal and brutality, it also shines with an unexpected, life-changing love."

It is said that our differences bring us together and our sameness keeps us together. Or, is it the other way around? What are your thoughts?

Q. Where is the first baseball game in the Bible?
A. In the big inning, Eve stole first, Adam stole second. Cain struck out Abel, and the Prodigal Son came home. The Giants and the Angels were rained out.
