What's your Vocation?
Have you ever considered your vocation? Do you know what a vocation is? Your vocation is the thing that God is calling you to do with your life. Vocation comes from the Latin word, vocare, "to call." Everyone has a vocation. Maybe God is calling you to the priesthood, or religious life with a women's religious order. Perhaps God is calling you to seek marriage and raise a family. God might even be calling you to be single. Your vocation may be to teach in a Catholic School, or to be an executive in a socially conscious business. God calls us all to live very different lives from one another but no one vocation is better than another, no person is superior than another because they are called to a specific vocation that others are not. Where is God calling you?
The following links are a way to help you answer that question. Here you will find stories of people from the St. Stephen the Witness community who have discerned or are discerning a variety of vocations. They are seminarians, religious sisters, student-teachers, married couples, and someone considering the Peace-corps.
There are also links that will direct you to websites that will provide material on discerning or strengthening your vocation. Thank you for visiting this site, and may God bless you in your journey.
